Our Story

From luxurious sheep’s milk soaps to nourishing lanolin baa-dy butter, every item is thoughtfully crafted to be both beautiful and gentle on your skin. Their Finnsheep wool and sheepskins are irresistibly soft — heirloom-quality pieces that bring the calm and comfort of the countryside into everyday living.

Thymeless Homestead is a sheep farm where we raise registered Finnsheep and German Angora rabbits in the rolling hills of Montgomery County in Upstate New York. Our sheep are pasture-raised and lambs are grass-fed. Lactating ewes are supported with grain until weaning where they're grown out on our family farm's third generation orchards and meadows.

We strive for sound body conformation, excellent mothering and prolificacy, including good dairy potential of our replacement stock and are selective in our sellable stock. All stock are compared to the Finnsheep Breeder's Association's breed standard. Requests for replacement stock are maintained on a waitlist to meet our devotion to locating beneficial stock that'll improve the buyer's flock thus improving the breed as a whole.

At Thymeless Homestead, we focus on raising our sheep as naturally, as possible, yet intervening whenever necessarily. We manage a high-intensity, rotational grazing system to improve the parasite resistance of our flock; therefore, reducing the use of chemical dewormers. Our flock has tested annually for OPP, CL and Johnes, with continued negative results.
